Sans Beast launched in March 2018 by Cathryn Wills, formerly Manager and Creative Director of Australian accessories brand, MIMCO. After living and breathing the world of leather handbags for over a decade, Wills adopted a new lifestyle in mid 2015 and progressively recognised a disconnect between her professional role and her ethical stance on animal welfare and the environment.
The thoughts started years ago. But they were buried in the name of the job and commerce. The more research she did, the louder her thoughts became. Eventually, she walked away from the world she had known and decided to create a new one. It was confronting at times, yet nothing beats finding your true north.

Aesthetic & tactile pleasures are, of course, pivotal to their design process, however the technical efficacy of their materials is also paramount.
Sans Beast sources Eco-friendly vegan leathers (PU), which adhere to international standards in terms of chemical ingredients. They know no company is perfect and they are in constant pursuit of newer and cleaner technologies.
Their combat plan is to design pieces with spirit & integrity for people who will love them. Adored pieces don't go to landfill. They're treasured, collected, shared, upcycled
PRODUCTION
The production period goes for 2-3 months, depending on material availability, it is constant communication with the factory and the Sans Beast team to ensure all details remain on track.
An exceptional relationship is necessary in order for this to run smoothly. They proudly manufacture their bags in Southern China, at a family run factory, whom Cathryn has worked with for over 13 years, Tony, his team in Dongguan, China, and Sans Beast collections would not come together without his extreme care & attention to detail.
