Materials

Oliver Co. selects Apple Leather and WASTEA® for their strength and wear resistance.

WASTEA® combines leftover tea leaves with bio-PU on a recycled polyester canvas, creating a material with 65% bio-content. Co-developed exclusively for Oliver Co., it has a soft, supple finish and supports local tea farmers in Turkey.

Apple Leather uses apple waste from the fruit juice and compote industry in Bolzano, Italy, transforming a discarded by-product into a durable, supple leather alternative.

Lining: premium microfibre suede made from partly recycled polyester, combined with 100% recycled polyester Oxford lining.

Oliver Co. explores alternatives to animal leather, including materials made with recovered apple waste and tea waste. In the Premium collection, Apple Leather and WASTEA bring those ingredients together with other components for a supple, practical finish.

The material and lining depend on the piece. The composition above explains what this product is made from; plant-based ingredients do not mean an accessory is entirely plastic-free.

From the first fifty wallets.

Matthew’s first collection began with fifty wallets made using an apple-waste material. That small beginning grew into a brand shaped by product design: solving everyday needs through proportion, construction and a willingness to work differently.

Oliver Co. continues that work from its Bermondsey studio in London. Its B Corp certification reflects the business’s assessed social and environmental practices.
