LUXTRA'S

ITALIAN MASTERY

Luxtra's products are the epitome of exceptional craftsmanship. Each piece is manufactured in the historic city of Florence, Italy, renowned for its skilled artisans and long tradition of luxury production. Luxtra works with a family-owned and run manufacturer, Cristian SPA, which is known for its expertise in crafting fine leather goods.

With Luxtra, Cristian SPA is not only upholding its rigorous code of ethics, but also embracing innovation by using new, advanced vegan materials to create beautiful, high-quality products. This is a true testament to Luxtra's commitment to both tradition and sustainability.

MATERIALS

AppleSkin™

Luxtra's commitment to sustainability is exemplified by their use of AppleSkin™, a game-changing, plant-based material that provides a sustainable alternative to traditional leather. This eco-friendly material is derived from the cellulose fibers found in discarded apple waste from the food industry. Luxtra's innovative approach not only helps reduce waste but also provides a luxurious, long-lasting product that is both stylish & sustainable. Produced in Florence, AppleSkin™ offers the embodiment of modern luxury, showcasing that high-end design & environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

Piñatex®

Piñatex is a sustainable and innovative alternative to traditional leather that's made from pineapple leaves, a byproduct that is typically discarded. This plant-based material provides a new source of income for farming communities that rely on seasonal crops, while the remaining biomass can be used as a natural fertilizer or biofuel, adding further economic benefits to the process.

Piñatex is natural, cruelty-free, and sustainably sourced, making it a smart and ethical choice for consumers who want to support eco-friendly practices.

P. ECO - LININGS

Luxtra's mini handbag, belt bag, and pouch are lined with organic cotton blends from the Italian mill Paoletti Tessuti. The "P-Eco" fabrics are environmentally friendly and sustainable. Luxtra uses three fabrics from the P-Eco range, with compositions that include organic cotton, cotton, and a small amount of acrylic. The addition of acrylic improves the durability and longevity of the textiles, ensuring the bags remain beautiful for longer.

DEADSTOCK - LININGS

Luxtra sources deadstock fabrics from Tuscany for its wash bag and backpack linings. These are materials that have not been sold or have been discarded by other companies. By upcycling existing materials, Luxtra avoids unnecessary production of new ones, promoting sustainability in the fashion industry.

LYLIANE - LININGS

Luxtra uses a microfiber lining in their tote bags, as it has an open construction that works better than woven textiles. The microfiber produced by Lorenzi is highly durable and resistant, which enhances the longevity of the tote bag. Not only does Lorenzi share Luxtra's environmental and human values, but they are also working to develop recycled microfiber, which Luxtra plans to use as soon as possible. This switch will reduce environmental impact and support Lorenzi's efforts to create ever-greener materials.
