ECOALF

Because There Is No Planet B

ECOALF IS B CORP™ CERTIFIED

Ecoalf, the first fashion brand in Spain to become a B Corp™, known for its commitment to the people and the planet, B Corp™ certified corporations inspire all businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world.
There are 2,441 Certified B Corporations in the world with one unifying goal – to redefine success in business.

THE BEGINNING

The concept of the brand came after the birth of Javier's son, Alfredo (the company is named after him), when he was reflecting upon the world we would leave to the next generation and his frustration with the excessive use of the world’s natural resources. ECOALF was born in 2009.

The idea was to create a fashion brand that is truly sustainable. By integrating breakthrough technology they create clothing and accessories made entirely from recycled materials…without actually looking like it.

ECOALF exclusively develops fabrics for future generations.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

Both recycled fabric and organic fabric are sustainable raw materials.

In ECOALF, they prefer to use recycled fabrics because their negative environmental impact is much lower.

RECYCLED NYLON

Coming from recovering nylon waste, (fabric scraps, fishing nets from the oceans and carpets).

Recycled nylon requires half the amount of steps compared to the conventional chemical process and reduced energy and water consumption.

RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES

In an effort to clean the oceans, ECOALF has worked to recover over 500 tons of trash from the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea.

The PET plastic bottles that constitute the main raw material of Ecoalf, are first transformed into flakes and pellets in order to obtain a high-quality, 100% polyester recycled filament without the necessity of  using the planet’s natural resources.

RECYCLED COTTON

By using recycled cotton, ECOALF saves 2,500 liters of water per T-shirt.

ECOALF has saved 38 million liters of water by using recycled cotton.

Minimizing the environmental footprint is at the core of the brand.

EDUCATIONAL AIM

Sustainability is the future of fashion and ECOALF is thankful to the future generations of Millennials and Generation Z sharing their vision to educate communities, as well as demanding sustainability from the industry.

COMMITMENT

The brand is developing a service to collect ECOALF's used garments to recycle them and give them another use. Additionally, the team is internally investing in R&D to further extend the life cycle of the garments and urge consumers to recycle to close the loop.
